Happy 1st Birthday, Otto! Celebrating Our Spunky Mini-Cow
Time flies when you’re showering a tiny calf with love! Today, we are beyond excited to celebrate a huge milestone at Bell Family Farm: Otto, our beloved mini-cow, is officially turning one!
If you’ve visited the farm over the past year, chances are Otto stole your heart. He is as loving, friendly, and delightfully spunky as they come.
Otto doesn't just tolerate affection—he genuinely thrives on it. Whether it's a chin scratch, a belly rub, or a sweet neck cuddle, he’s always the first to trot over to say hello and soak up every drop of human attention.
A Nine-Month Wait & A Bump in the Belly
Otto’s story actually began long before he took his very first steps. We waited 9 long, anxious, and excited months for his arrival.
In the final weeks preceding his delivery, we were glued to mama Caroline's side. We even got to watch Otto squirm, kick, and tumble around inside her belly! Seeing those tiny nudges from the outside made us fall in love with him before he was even born.
Mama Caroline: A Story of Trust & Devotion
Otto’s birthday is also a celebration of his incredible mother, Caroline.
Watching Caroline tend to Otto day and night—never letting him out of her sight and gently guiding him—has been pure joy. What makes this even more heartwarming is knowing how far Caroline has come. In her early days on the farm, she was deeply distrustful of humans and kept her distance.
Today, seeing her nurture Otto with complete confidence and peace is a beautiful reminder of what patience, safety, and love can do.
But Caroline isn't done! June 2027 is the due date of her next bundle of joy, and possibly the last time she gives birth before retiring from motherhood and settling in to grandmotherhood. That's right, you heard us! Esme, her two year old daughter, is also pregnant and due the same month. What a blessing!
